I have joined the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild and will be so happy to meet these ladies at the upcoming meeting and sew-in. I will try my best to attend both these August events. I have to get over the fact I am a beginner and just enjoy it. I won't get better until I practice. My goal is to pick projects that suit my skill level and complete them - trying not to have a bunch of quilt projects hanging about just as I still find random yarn on a knitting needles stuffed in a bag. I am turning over a new leaf, YES I am ! I can do this.
I was on vacation recently in Newfoundland and went to a great quilt shop in CBS called PIECEMAKERS. I had a great time vieiwng all the wonderful quilts and picked up some great fabric for a lap quilt for my Dad who really needs something special and a bit of hope too. I picked up some nautical fabrics and fabric that reminded me of Newfoundland. Things that say home to me !
Rustic Living Arthur Kenneth Quilting Treasures BTY North Woods Bear Moose Brown
By the Sea Dover Hill
Coastal houses in red for Makower fabrics

Farmer John Organics by Paintbrush Studio
Seaside Escape David Carter Brown Wilmington prints pattern 93087
Plus I have some music notes fabrics to add ! I don't have an exact plan but probably mix in solids and alternate squares with hourglass blocks or something to show off the motifs ! I absolutely love the blueberries and I wish I bought more. I am trying to rein in my purchases by buying small amounts but than later say " why did I not get more ?" Who else does this ?
Well hope to get feedback and progress to follow ....
